Where It All Started
The Community Events Magazine is a free monthly publication providing it's readership with complete, well organized coverage of local events. The costs of production, distribution and operation are totally supported by a network of advertising clients.
The concept was created by Frank Eggertson and started in Camrose, Alberta in June of 1994. The first magazines were known as The Camrose County Events Calendar and were immediately recognized as a useful resource. The product was well received by the readers and advertisers and the initial circulation of 5000 copies was increased to 14,000 copies in three months.
In June 2004, the magazine was renamed the Community Events Magazine and was enhanced by an interactive web page designed to collect, organize and present the events via the internet. A section of the database is designed to organize and produce the events text for the magazine.
In response to requests from events organizers and advertisers in the Wetaskiwin area, a separate publication was introduced in 2005.
Throughout it's history, the magazine has received requests to expand into other locations. Through several years of research and testing it was determined that franchising was the best way to expand.
We provide the organization, graphics, production and support allowing you to focus on community events and developing your client network. This also maintains a consistent, quality product and creates a solid brand awareness.
